CBS' '2 Broke Girls' Gets Full-Season Order

Richard Cartwright/CBS"2 Broke Girls" Whitney Cummings is two-for-two this TV season. CBS has given a full-season order to freshman comedy 2 Broke Girls, which counts stand-up comic Cummings among its executive producers. The network sent out a tweet Wednesday afternoon announcing the pickup. Beth Beers and Kat Dennings star as two 22-year-old women from different backgrounds who wind up waiting tables at the same diner and strike up a friendship with the hopes of launching a successful cupcake business in the series co-created by Cummings and Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King. STORY: NBC Orders Full Seasons of 'Up All Night,' 'Whitney' The multicamera comedy launched to 19.4 million viewers and a 7.1 rating in the advertiser-coveted adults 18-49 demo following the heavily hyped Ashton Kutcher-fronted reboot of Two and a Half Men. Television comedy settled in to its time period the following week -- as a lead-in to Men -- dipping 37 percent but still attracting a healthy 11.6 million viewers and a 4.5 rating in the demo, remaining steady in it third week out.
