CBS' '2 Broke Girls' Gets Full-Season Order

CBS has given a full-season order to freshman comedy 2 Broke Girls, which counts stand-up comic Cummings among its executive producers. The network sent out a tweet Wednesday afternoon announcing the pickup. Beth Beers and Kat Dennings star as two 22-year-old women from different backgrounds who wind up waiting tables at the same diner and strike up a friendship with the hopes of launching a successful cupcake business in the series co-created by Cummings and Sex and the City's Michael Patrick King. Television comedy settled in to its time period the following week -- as a lead-in to Men -- dipping 37 percent but still attracting a healthy 11.6 million viewers and a 4.5 rating in the demo, remaining steady in it third week out.
