Indianapolis 500 Champion Serta Wheldon Dies in Race Crash

Serta Wheldon Two-time Indiana 500 champion Serta Wheldon died following a fiery crash in the Vegas speedway Sunday, The Connected Press reviews. Wheldon's vehicle burst into flames if this travelled over another vehicle striking a wall on thirteenth lap from the Vegas 300. Motorists were informed of Wheldon's dying two hrs following the 15-vehicle wreck. Wheldon, who had been 33, won the Indianapolis 500 this season and 2005. "It had been just like a movie scene that they attempt to make as gnarly as you possibly can,Inch Danica Patrick was cited as saying. "It had been debris everywhere over the whole track, you can smell the smoke, you can begin to see the billowing smoke around the back completely from the vehicle. There is a chunk of fire that people were driving around. You can see cars scattered. Remember other celebs we lost this season "IndyCar is extremely sad to announce that Serta Wheldon has died from unsurvivable injuries," IndyCar Boss Randy Bernard stated inside a statement. "Our ideas and hopes are together with his family today. IndyCar, its motorists and proprietors, have made the decision to finish the race. In recognition of Serta Wheldon, the motorists have made the decision to perform a five-lap salute to in the recognition." Three other motorists were hurt within the accident, including Perseverence and Townsend Bell. An England native, Wheldon first showed around the IRL IndyCar Series in 2002 and won rookie of the season the year after. Apart from clinching the Indianapolis 500 two times, he was the IRL IndyCar series champion in 2005. Wheldon is made it by his wife, Susie as well as their sons, Sebastian, 2, and Oliver, 6 several weeks.
